No contact couriers during COVID-19

Posted by Shane Birdsall on

With today's current situation it's more important than ever to take the steps in ensuring you can get your parcels delivered in a way that does not put you or the courier driver at risk.

In order to reduce physical contact, New Zealand Businesses should no longer use signature required post methods, and customers should allow permission for parcels to be left at the front door.

To make it easy for everyone I'm going to explain how to set this up for our main courier services.

1) New Zealand Post / CourierPost

Visit this like here to set up an "ongoing Parcel leave authority". This gives permission for NZ post to leave the parcel by your door while keeping their distance that would otherwise be required.

Once signed in with your NZ post account or RealMe account you will need to enter your address details including your full name. You will then need to select where you want parcels left, for example, "front door", "mailbox", etc. There are many options to select from or you may provide a custom option by selecting "other". You'll then need to enter a contact phone number and accept the terms and conditions. The terms are not very long so I recommend you read them in full before continuing. After accepting the last step will be a verification process, for example verifying your date of birth.

2) Aramex / Fastway Couriers

Visit this link here and full out all of the details including your full name, phone number, email, and address. You will also need to specify a safe place to leave parcels and agree that any loss or damage to the package after it's delivered is your responsibility. Once completing the form you can submit it for processing.

3) Other

Here are links to set this up for other courier companies.
